I am staying in my van in a yard where I'm working so not much to forage. I did however get out today and get some nettles to infuse into a hot foot bath as I have got a gammy toe. Very soothing. Dont know much about the effects but a herbalist and homeopath I know swears by it. Any info on it would be great. xx
Edit. update. good as an anti inflammatory. That would explain the footbath. Just did a quick research on other nettle attributes and put it on my to do list to start eating them. x

I am trying to eat a bit healthier and having foragables daily. Today I picked wild mustard, nettles, stitchwort, wild parsley (be careful picking that as it is hemlock lookalike ) chick weed, penny wort, pig nut and clevers (the tender tips). I will have that in a vinaigrette and serve with veg cous cous. I have been doing it for two weeks now and feel better on every level. remarkable results xxx

Not foraged yet, I’m going to collect at the weekend when a tad bigger, I’ll post some better pics then.

There is an invasive garlic mustard here which is good to eat. Same latin name, but looks slightly different to that specimen you show there. Leaves more roundly heart-shaped and not coloured ... well, not that I have seen.

I was going to suggest you wait for seeds of that mustard you have and sow them. But, I expect you are onto that already :)

Post some pictures if you can. On the subject of seeds I dont gather them but I do know about them. I have really upped my foraging this year and am trying new things and eating more wild food so thank you for the prompt. x

Heartsease (the wild pansy) selfheal, lemon balm, rosenoble (figwort), bittercress, wild strawberries, and I cut and have laid out to dry, the leaves from the iris that I favour for cordage and basketry.

I am also most displeased. I was weeding under the Rowan tree and was bitten by something. Being then aware, when something landed on my other arm I squished it.
It was a mosquito :mad::mad:

Midgies, clegs, berry bugs.....those I'm used to, but mozzies are not something I want here.

Apparently they are now becoming more common, even here in Scotland.
We can't tober down global warming quickly enough :sigh:
