What fungi did you spot today?

Not exactly 'today' but these pictures are of fungi encountered in two weeks (21 November - 5 December) on the tropical island of Curaçao. I cannot find much information on the fungi overthere so I have no idea what species these are...anyway, enjoy

The first one might be a Phellinus(?)









This might be Podaxis pistillaris:

Another hazel glove photo, this one growing on a hazel tree planted about 35 years ago when the woodland was first established, so it isn't only found on ancient woodland.

Looks like a crowd of tiny muppets clapping...

Nice load of Turkey Tails

Velvet Shank (Flammulina velutipes)
A beautiful, common, and edible winter fruiting fungus. Not everyone likes the texture but it has a pleasant mild flavour. It keeps its colour if not over-cooked too.

Anyone ID this blue/grey Turkey Tail type?

These are dried because I was going to try tincture making.

Colours of cap and pores look correct for turkeytail to my amateur eye, though.

Loads by us. But don’t try and cook them in an air fryer. Just dries the things and doesn’t cook them. Paying for that today.

Found this the other week. It's the second year running the oak has had a beefsteak fungi, this one was very small, more a filet mignon so I left it be to hopefully spread. It's also quite hard to photograph.

Been out in our woods for the first time after the recent rains. We don't seem to get a huge abundance of fungi which I wonder if is because we don't tend to get long periods of drought down here. Anyway, more than usual about.

The common sulphur tuft:


No idea about this one, fungi or slime mould? They seemed quite firm.

Get yourself a UV torch and go back for some more pictures of that sulphur tuft. It will look spectacular!

Yellow fieldcap


Some old Chicken of the Woods at perfect dog wee height.


A very old and manky looking bolete of some kind. Or potentially a manky birch polypore? Hard to tell its original shape as it was soggy and broken.

Purple brittlegill. Distinct from Charcoal Burner, a fellow Russula, by the brittle rather than flexible gills.

No penny buns today, I fear I am too late for them as usual locations were devoid of much bolete life. Or I’m too early, which would be nice! Didn’t see any amanitas or boletes other than that possibly rotten one, so maybe I should be optimistic!
