Interesting! I’m making a new handle for my Opinel 12 with the blade tipped 12degrees forward.
I do think blade angles are well worth exploring.

Edited to add:
Sorry, perhaps a new thread.

Olight Oclip.
Attached it to my edc-bag. There is a small pen slot on the end of the bag, perfect for a small flashlight with a clip.
This way, if I need light right now, there is no need to search in the bag. Just push the light switch.
I carry the bag on my left side so the light is pointing forward.

Can you run with your EDC without losing stuff? To me that's a fairly essential criteria.

Whole bucket full of little bits from GO outdoor while the discounts are on and there's still a fair bit of stock. Plus some small gas bottles and a bigger one to refuel them from.

Another old 2D cell maglite for £2.
The bulb had gone, and the charity shop was about to dispose of as useless as" you can't get the bulbs anymore"
I opened the bottom up and lo! The spare bulb was in place under the spring. I said nothing and offered two quid, which was accepted.
Down to my mate at the gun shop, and an led conversion is on order.. back home, I switched out the old bulbs, and it's working just fine, just waiting for the upgrade to arrive now.
I already have one i got under similar circumstances a few years back, and made the upgrade to. So now I have a backup.
Good result. Light and self defence in one.
... can I ask you about the bulb thing? Is that all bulbs or just some? My beloved Lumie 'go to bed slowly sunset' lamps, the old halogen bulbs are no longer supplied anywhere. I've kept the lamps tho, it would be wonderful if it was possible to convert the fittings

Hard to answer that unless your lamp takes the same bulbs as a Maglite. There’s no doubt you could convert it to take a led, you just need to know the current to the bulb and its max/min voltages for dimming. But your Lumie isn’t a Maglite. What does it take, screw in bulbs, a tube?

Drivers, LEDs in any tint of choice are all available, the BudgetLightForum lot are always buying torches that are easy to work on (Convoy S2 mainly) and fitting their choices. There’s a whole forum section on builds.

These are Lumie bulbs?

Today, bought 3 cans of Zippo fuel for these;

And a 6x telephoto for the iPhone. I have a 2x, but have been using it enough to realise for landscapes I could do with more reach before I start adding digital zoom in.

I got this today at a charity shop, I’m presuming it’s a type of charcoal cooker with the chimney passing through the pan.
Any info on it would be greatly appreciated, It just looked too interesting to pass up at £4

Be careful what you conjure in that. Many’s the time I’ve dipped my chopsticks into one of those and a tentacle has emerged!

Wow, just looked at a couple of videos, the effort involved seems impressive and immense and delicious …….so any alternative uses for it that don’t involve hours of prep and a multitude of ingredients please, I have to admit looking at the vids I’m now ravenous.

Rock Salt x 2 bags

< steps upon soapbox > If everyone put a couple bags aside for when/if icy roads become the norm , we could all just do 'our bit' in front of our houses and avoid some grief.

< Nods -see no one is paying attention - steps down off soap box - mutters - picks up box and recedes back into the throng >

There’s are countries where you are legally obliged to clear your stretch of pavement. There are others, like the UK, where doing so makes you liable for the surface that you’ve created.
Ho, as they say, hum.
