While looking for something else Isaw a interesting site about a Australian Servicemans experiance in Vietnam.
My apologies if this has been mentioned before but he recounted how they improvised stoves to use with hexi blocks from tin cans.
First off select a suitably sized can,
Then cut lines top and bottom half way round, I used a knife we use for gardening that needed sharpening anyway.
And, taking due care, push the front panel inside until it touches the back panel.
This one just happens to fit a meths burner
althouigh I can't imagine forgetting/losing the rest of a Trangia and still having the burner but thats by the by.
I thought I'd share it anyway, no doubt theres thread buried somewhere but I missed it!
