Finally got those pictures sorted out.

Great pictures of the Swedish Fire Gary. Had another on today whilst on site. Managed to get it down to a tee and made small ones to last half an hour for lunch time.
Decided i need to learn how to use a sewing machine. Inspired by everyone who makes there own clothes.
Any ideas what is a good project to paractice on first?

Sounds like you guys had a great time, historically how often do you guys meet up for over nighters/weekends ?
I am slowly but surely getting my kit together so i'm keen to attend one soon.

It's not about kit, there's always enough spare stuff going round to help out if needed.
If you're prepared to travel a bit there's usually something going on most months somewhere.
I think the next one is the Midlands meet unless you fancy the Dark Age meet.

Hi, i apreciate its not just about the kit, personally i would just feel a bit more confortable having my own rather than you lot putting up with a newbie you've never met before mithering everyone and his dog to borrow stuff
And i was talking about basic stuff like a hammock, decent sleeping bag, tarp.

I attended my first meet last year I had almost nothing - a cheap tent from argos, an inadiquate sleepingbag and a £10 triangia. There is no need to spend alot, and nobody is a closed group, you will feel most welcome.

Yeah thanks for the advice, desperate to get out and try some of my kit out now so will keep an eye out for a meet soon. otherwise will wait for some better weather and have a bash myself or with my lad.

OK I can understand that sentiment, much like my own I guess, but most people acquire spare gear as they buy new toys and lending it out to others where needed gives it some useful purpose.
It also gives people a chance to try stuff out before shelling out their own hard earned on stuff that might not suit them.
We all got spare kit (whatever that is ?? ) and lending it to somebody else isn`t a big deal as long as it doesn`t get trashed in the process. I borrowed a hammock before buying one because I wasn`t too sure whether I`d get any sleep or just end up on the floor in a pile.
Probably the most useful loan was a Sabre 75 for a whole week on a bushy course, it showed me how much more comfortable it could be carrying a full load compared to my Vulcan.
