During WW2, women made underwear out of parachute silk their menfolk "lberated". My mother asked my father if he could get her some and he duly obliged. Perhaps she should have been more specific. The parachute silk he brought her never became underwear but came in very useful over the years for stealth camping. I still have a small piece left!
My father had a similar story which he told us, at the end of the war, he and partner in crime came across a factory and liberated a bolt of silk to bring home. Method, simple between them wrapped it around their bodies like cling wrap. They flew back in a Dakota, every one else were freezing, it was December yet the pair were sweating! My mother made several dresses for my sisters for some time!

We lost 4:1 to Barca away in the Uefa Champions League 1st leg semi. Ok that's Barca away but they did us again by the same score back at the Bridge a couple of weeks ago. We just didn't play, 8:2 on aggregate. Many blame the manager. Sssh!! Issue is that she was brought in specifically so Chelsea can take on and beat Barca and Lyon et al.
3 nil to Chelsea. Another domestic trophy but yesterdays game was not a classic. Manchester United didn't turn up. 74,000 did, if we'd beaten Barca it would have been a sell out
Didn't realise just how bought in I am. Arsenal vs Lyon UCL final on Saturday. Euro's June/July

My Grandfather worked at Cardington where they re-packed used parachutes and liferafts for the aircraft in one of the airship hangers. One woman stole a parachute and faked the packing. Was found out and they put her name up on the rafters, and said someone died as a result. No idea if they really did, but the shame killed her - suicide.
How about a tactical flute for the wandering minstrel. It was actually a thing called the Shakuhachi which is a flute made of very thick bamboo with the root attached, a bit like a Japanese Shillelagh I suppose but a musical one. Apparently it was carried by monks when weapons were forbidden.

Staffs that incorporate flutes are not unusual. I wouldn’t call them tactical - they are neither black nor expensive.
