What I did NOT buy today!

I wouldn’t call them tactical - they are neither black nor expensive.
Neither are prerequisites for being tactical, it seems. Only this morning AliExpress offered up a very affordable "tactical toilet bag" - in pink camo.

Lest there be any doubt - I did not buy it.

I hadn’t seen it was on. Any good?

I suppose it depends what you go for. It had a good atmosphere and most people were quite chatty. I'm told it was quiet this year; I've not been for a while. There were plenty of stands, some interesting less usual ones including a Chinese bushcraft stand (they have a bushcraft show as well!!), some truly skilful people with their wares, and plenty of free skills demos as well as paid-for tuition sessions. I enjoyed some pretty in-depth conversations with some real characters, The live band on Saturday night was good.

All in all, I enjoyed it, but I was helping out on FerlasDave's stand, so I was experiencing it from a different perspective.

It is amazing what people are finding. I am writing a comedy about this stuff and am harvesting some great material. Please keep finding them. x

Well I managed to get one day at the Wilderness Gathering, and spent far too much, some unplanned "opportunities" but some sort-of intended. Sadly numbers attending seemed down, and very quiet for the traders but maybe because it was the hottest part of the day.

Intended: a few non-uk ration packs, sundry straps and a few storage bags
Unintended; New modular inner lightweight sleeping bag & comprsn sack, sniper tape, bigger compression bandage, carbon Morakniv Companion, ally kidney cup stand, stropping pastes. And a supposedly british army microfibre towel - on unwrapping, China manuf, no MOD marking - but seems to work ok.

So the unintended outweighed the intended, as always, but I'm pretty happy with all of it even the "fake" towel. I'm tickled with the sleeping bag, wanted one for ages but the used ones are pretty shot. So when I saw new I grabbed it. Already slept in it , great.
