They almost seem like the invention of a cartoon or Nintendo game to me. They’ve got that an almost unreal smooth, fluffy marshmallow look to them that would make them look at home in the world of Mario and Luigi.
Still no sign of ceps/amethyst deceivers/fly agaric in my usual spots, though apparently all are being found elsewhere in the UK at the moment. I hold out hope.
From what I see, or don't see in Petworth Park, the mushroom season is a way off. That rain hasn't gone far, there isn't a single Parasol about yet and they're a good indicator.

Found amethyst deceivers in their thousands in the Scottish Borders - unfortunately not for picking as won’t have the facilities to cook them for a couple of days.
Walked about 5ft into the forest and it was fungi galore.
Yellow Stainer (Agaricus xanthodermus), considered to be the cause of the majority of UK mushroom poisonings but not lethal. In the 30 odd years we've lived here this is the first time it's shown up - I never will understand fungi fruiting
First is what I think is a Violet Webcap. Found a patch of hundreds of them.
I am on the fence for this next one between Giant Funnel and Trooping Funnel. I was thinking the latter but I can’t really see if there was an umbo present.
Too many to list to be honest - I've spent the afternoon with the county fungus recorder and other experts. Unfortunately, I suspect only about 5% of what I learnt today I'll retain
