Yes, I received another headtorch for Christmas. I think that's number 5 or maybe 7. Actually quite a different and interesting one.
It has a wide headband type LED light that is very bright and gives a wide illuminated area for general trotting about duties, and a variable-power spotlight on the side of the head for specific task lighting. Besides the usual push buttons it also has a side infrared switch on/off by waving your hand . Rechargeable battery with claimed durations for each function that are, I think, realistic and useful. Apparently all for a tenner 0n-line.
So now I can go running around in the undergrowth at night with a Rambo-ish headband and not fall over a log or run into a tree. Or maybe useful for that desperate late night need to get up in my underclothes for a wee..with both hands free...

Just going through the AA sized ones and finding a decent battery with a USB port to go off with the blue one that has sold pending funds.Today I’ve bought nothing very exciting, a decent pair of 4.5” stainless steel beard scissors to catch the strays. For about 3 or 4 weeks I’ve been picking up the battery trimmer or the brush and double edge and then not doing it. If it’s not coming off, it needs a bit of maintenance.

I think I received the same - spotlight on each side though. A bit different to other head torches I’ve got. I wouldn’t have picked it but actually seems to cover the bases well enough. I’m happy to not use the hand wave function though!!
I've looked at this torch numerous times but never actually pulled the trigger on one.
I have one and I do thin its good for general illumination - certainly bright.
Only criticism is its very much Flood as opposed to throw making it suitable for DIY tasks and maybe road running but a Throw element tends to be needed for off road running. Bit more distance.
But its a cheapish LED bar so good for what it does.

I’m the same with all the Hanklights, so many emitter options. This 4500K suits me better. Course, now I want to try the even more candle incandescent 4000K.

I took a punt on a Lowe Alpine Triple Point Ceramic jacket for twenty quid. I expect the membrane will be past it's best and thinking, if I like the jacket, I might try waxing or fabsil the outside. It'll just be a coat for popping to the shops, picking my son up from school etc.
An FTP (full-tang Puukko) by Rob Evans in rwl34 and orange G10 scales with green liners.
A small masurbjörk board and some scales, three pairs each of holly and sweet locust.
The board is going to become the sheath for my "baby Bowie" a very, very long term project.
The scales, because I've decided to make some bushcrafty knives including making my own blades, as a change from the puukkot that I've made in the past, from bought blades.
I really need to put in some practice (and probably make some jigs) to get my grinds more even.

Have now received these - the illumination element isn't as strong or as easily charged as I would prefer. I have contacted Polymath directly with my feedback but wanted to leave a comment here so others can be made aware.
