Nice price. I have a fair bit, hence buying the heater but if I wanted another 16l in 4l canisters it would cost £46 delivered so it’s a fair bit more expensive. It’s annoying to have to buy it online, but the only stuff in the hardware shops here is Class 2 kero and it’s certainly not for domestic.

A 20l can is £60, a lot more! Prices don’t vary much either, Dry-It-Out LTD have been superb to deal with for both the heater and the fuel. The first heater had an ignition problem and the spark wasn’t jumping across the wick. I could have easily just bent it but they said leave it and picked up and replaced the very next morning.

I get my odourless kerosene from Rye Oil. Currently £51.96 for 20lts and they do next business day delivery.

Olight Oclip.
Attached it to my edc-bag. There is a small pen slot on the end of the bag, perfect for a small flashlight with a clip.
This way, if I need light right now, there is no need to search in the bag. Just push the light switch.
I carry the bag on my left side so the light is pointing forward.

Did a bit of shopping for useful things I've needed for a while:

- a Mora chisel knife, for splitting down kindling (especially the tough ready to burn kindling)
- some smurf poo for stropping
- a billy can with a handle, a lid and a spout, which is going to do double duty as my camp cup, but I liked the versatility of the spout. It might replace my big pan as my wild camping container.
- a rucksack I don't hate every moment of interacting with. My old one was from a 2nd hand shop, cost pennies, and was perfectly servicsble, but not for the kind of camping I do.

In particular, I want to try cooking outdoors more, so I hope this will help.

New tooth, that's the savings gone! But had to be done. I didn't cry (much). ;)

Funky coloured paracord, I keep weaving bits and bobs for my friends.

My washing machine is kaput, so I've been handwashing and my long time ago dislocated wrist isn't happy trying to wring out the handwashing.
Today, I found a large salad spinner in the charity shop and had a brainwave.
Bought it for a couple of quid, did some handwashing of socks and undies, and spun them in the salad spinner, instead of trying to wring them out. Worked a treat!
Not a shiny bushcraft thing, but certainly a handy off grid solution. I'm a genius! ;)

Fairly sure you could repurpose the back end of your motorbike and get a 3000rpm spin going

Wonderful idea Rich. Could you send me your plans to convert a 750 shaft drive to power a little plastic pump action salad spinner please? I just so have to have a go at drying my undies like that. We could make a fortune between us! :lmao:

I used to have cause to hand wash many tea-towels in a field!
I can't tell you how much I loved the mangle that we had! :D

We used to use a huge cast iron mangle with wooden rollers when we did car wash fund raising. They cost a fortune these days!
