  • Merry Christmas Guest, we hope that you have a great day wherever you are, and we're looking forward to hearing of your adventures in the New Year!
Get myself fit again (giving up the fags would be a good start but I need to get a bit more active in general).

Take my boys away hammocking without the luxury of a car...public transport and walking only...so the fun will be in the usual battle between minimal kit & comfort (without me ending up carrying absolutely everything).

Few bits of new kit I need to but (new 4x4 tarp, ingredients for 3 underquilts...I'm sure the list will grow).

A couple of knife sheaths to make now that I've settled on a pattern and started to assemble the parts and tools that I need.

Get a weekend away with just me and my wife...it's been a while and probably long overdue. The only problem is that she's thinking Rome & I'm thinking Glencoe (maybe the ideal compromise is both?)

To be able to afford to go somewhere (both money and time)

To get to the Moot (and afford it...I have the time)

To get the Tactical Tin Tent sorted. (The good news is I now have an awning, so I can take up even more room.)

Get out for weekend in snow conditions (never done that before).
Spring come - start building a shed-house for my bushcrafty retreat in local piece of land I own. Get that done as much as possible and plant as many trees as possible for my personal use and future generations.
Have as many trips as I can really (one a month is my plan!) although I had the same plan the year before but it never worked out that way because of a lot work regarding my new place I live.
MAKE IT TO THE MOOOOOOOT :D eventually.

Andy.

Although not strictly 'bushcrafty', I'm heading off to Greenland this summer to walk the Arctic Circle Trail. Other than that, I am hoping to make some progress on my Level 5 Diploma in Bushcraft and generally spend more time in my extensive local woods. At least, that's the plan...

Canoe trip Sweden in April with Bucephalas flights and canoe booked(Thanks Rich)
SW and Wales meets
Wilderness gathering
But most importantly this is the year of the shed as I am having to vacate my man cave in the house as my teenage son wants the room .So I am using that as a chance to design and build a detached purpose built replacement space

Tiley, thats someplace I have always wanted to visit, a great part of the world for Pioneers. (I cant recall the statistics for how many residents were born elsewhere, or at least one parent was born elsewhere, but its pretty much everybody...)

(Its also blooming expensive...)

Lose some beef, get out as much as I can, 1 meet per month is my target. I wrote a survival training pack a while ago so wouldn't mind putting it into practice and running some courses. Would like to explore Scotland a bit more this year aswel.

First things first: drop some kilos after the X-mas eating & drinking stravaganza.

- February:Knife making course (3-day course including sheath making) in the North of Spain.
- June: Elementary Wilderness Bushcraft Course (one week) with Frontier Bushcraft (hopefully with Paul Kirtley) => I promise a review + some nice pics.
- July or August: 3/4 day wild camping location TBC...

Cheers

Toni

Gain the next level of my Scuba qualifications (Dive Leader)
Attend the Moot (I can get the time off)
Move from a flat to a house (Company accommodation, we're 65th on the list, should be at the top in a few months)

Well this will be a very busy year for me as I have many things to finish and lots to get started in between work commitments and filming new strands for BBC Landward. I have started on a Greenland skin on kayak, paddle, buckskin trousers, two new hats, new coracle, and a few other projects. I have also planned a few adventures for the comming season - Bring it on :)

I'm going to lose some weight and get a bit fitter and try and get an engine into my Land Rover.
More nights under canvas too.
