The “isn’t life great” thread – no negatives, just positive things that happened in your day. If you want to be negative about any subject raised, start another thread!

Fun things, joyous things, glad to be alive things! Things that have made you smile or even laugh! Or just things that made you sigh and say yes, isn’t life great. This isn't an 'I'm all right jack' thread, but one where we just celebrate small things that make life worth living.

I’ll kick off:

Tonight, I sat out as dusk turned to night, sipping a whisky. I realised, as I listened to the blackbird’s last chirp and the tawnies’ start to tweet and hoot, that I’ve experienced far worse times, times when I thought I would lose everything, when the stress made me so sick I couldn’t eat breakfast. I relaxed into the fading light and thought, I am content

Maybe not the best start, so let us know your bright moments :)
Spotted 3 hares there rare round here thesedays.

Had a great swim lat night at Aberporth, part of Cardigan bay, sunlight filtering through heavy clouds, calm water (although i do prefer some good waves!). very relaxing and enjoyable.
Got me thinking about how cold it's going to get on my weekly swims in just a few months...:runaway:

Just been for a lovely walk on the hills - clear blue sky, and a gentle cool breeze to keep fresh. Then stopped at the pub for half of a gorgeous chocolatey stout and some dry roasted nuts.
And we've got shepherds pie for tea tonight.
More like that, please.

discovered a little tweak to my catapult form which has made me considerably better than i was. The moon looks fantastic. The woodburners going well. I've got a cake. Saw red squirrel and had fish and chips. Today is not about getting what I want but wanting what I've got. Blessed. No worrying either x

Just been out for a rather bracing afternoon walk, started off bright and sunny, then I got caught in a drenching ...or two!, I realy enjoyed the smell of wet earth watching the canoeists on the river, and the sun glowing on the autumn leaves.
I'm now snuggled up at home with a nice hot chocolate , and some g/f choccy chunk biccys.
I'm so glad I don't live in a city. I'm so lucky.

I rarely see rainbows as I live in a valley, I'm on the northern side so they are normaly hidden by the houses and trees behind the house. Over the last two days, by sheer chance of being on the other side of the valley, I've seen 3 beauties, amazingly vivid against the dark grey sky.
I've just stopped and stared for ages watching them slowly form, and then dissappear. I love rainbows. (No unicorns so far though. :) )

I was hiking in some nearby hills recently. I don't always stick to the regular paths but follow sheep and pony paths occasionally. Unknowingly, I disturbed a Hare in its Form. It waited until I was only a metre or two away before legging it. (It must have been well asleep!) I put my hand down into the Form and could feel the residual warmth of its body on the ground. Connection...

I saw a full rainbow today.

Unfortunately when I got inside I found Blackie curled up on my jumper, which was on top of the camera...

I had good workout this morning, very rewarding. (then had to move a load of timber with my wife and my arms didn't like being over my head!)

Saw a toddler having the time of his life splashing in puddles. So I joined in, eventualy so did the mum. We were all soaked, but laughing and sqealing fit to bust. I ended up tripping over and sitting in the puddle. It was just so much fun. I didn't mind walking home with a soaked backside, and wet shoes.
Sometimes it's good to act like you are not a grown up. Life can be far too serious of late.
Go splash in a puddle, kick piles of leaves, and have a sneaky go on a swing or roundabout in the park. It makes the sun shine, even when its raining.
Do something child like every day, and it will make you happier.

When I grow up I'll try and remember that advice :)
