Yeah i know, Random question. It is Friday, and i 'm drinking Rum.. (again)

We should all try it, if one hasn't already.

Anyone ever wish they could have been a pirate? :D

Seriously though.... What we all drinking these days? (if anything) I know, not everyone likes a tipple... but those who do..Whats your poison? What do you take to the woods when you go... what do you savour at home, when you do?

I used to drink lager, had many a night, toting a crate around... sharing a beer with a few friends.. now? Cant be bothered with the weight. Rum all the way for me... Do i have a favourite? Sure. Is that what i buy the most.. No.

Everyone (who drinks) has their own tipple. What ya drinking, given the correct circumstance?

I mean, seriously.. never met a man/woman camping out somewhere, that wasn't wielding a warmer.

Kraken in the flask.
Hobgoblin, Guinness in the can or any decent local brew at the bar.
Heading for Keswick in a couple of hours (holiday let) I’ll probably be swallowing Wainwrights.

Edited to add:
Camping:
Coffee in the morning
Grown up cocoa in the evening (two big of G&B cocoa to one small of sugar. No milk. I don’t take milk camping).

My tipples these days are tea, coffee & water, when i did drink i used to make and enjoy some sloe gin but also really enjoyed Vana Tallinn which i discovered whilst working in Estonia and Minttu, a Finnish liqueur that i discovered whilst working in Finland, it's like drinking liquid Fox's Glacier mints, but is superb when added to a proper hot chocolate on a cold winter's day.

I too am a single malt fan, I have a collection of around 50 now that I’m slowly working through…

I like to drink home brew if it’s with a meal, or a Friday night post work I’ve taken to having a lost lager by brewdog, it hits the spot!

When trekking something stronger, last time rum before that brandy. Dark beer preferably, I do like continental abbey ones. Green tea or a few times the Greek mountain tea (Sideritis scardica).

Vana Tallinn which i discovered whilst working in Estonia and Minntu
Careful with those geminates, it is "Minttu" and yes it means "mint".

I am not much of a drinker these days, just sort of not bothered by it really. I was quite the drinker, just sort of lost my desire for alcohol really. Mostly i stick to water. A nice fruity Red I’ll enjoy still with something good to eat. It’s just not something i do so often .

I'm on an evolutionary Cocktail tech-tree. Grinding my way from one cocktail to another when purchasing a new ingredient opens up and allows me to try different drinks accordingly. I've worked out that cocktail making is like really basic cooking and just needs some basic application to get right. - Current favourite is a Boston Whisky Sour.

I also find i change my drinks depending upon the season.
Hot summer beer gardens.- Cider - default Strong bow , but I will try local brews if offered to see how they fair.

Winters evening where I want to just enjoy ( as opposed to race through ) Guinness or even better Mena Dhu - desserts in a glass - can't do more than three easily.

I also have a soft spot of Rums ( chasing the cocktail dragon allows one to build up reasonable back log of Rums and hard spirits. ) it tends to be what is in my hip flask.

Don't really drink any lager now - the endless sisyphusian cycle or drinking a pint then facing a urinal made it feel like financial purgatory.

What I do have as a habit now is to ask for a pint of ice water with what ever drink and just alternate sipping between the drink and the water as I feel over all better and want to savour the drink..

Have you finished the Lower east side we got yet? I’ve still not opened mine!

I've got about half a bottle left of that and the Clan Frazer Reserve. I've reduced my collection down to about 20 now I'm not drinking anywhere near as much :)
I'm currently enjoying a Bladnoch Alinta - sherry and bourbon cask finished - described as campfire, floral, sweet :)

The usual China tea (I have no particular favorite but I like to rotate them).

Hard stuff, not often.

Thistly Cross cider is really nice (doubly so for not being from a cider area).

Do try the stuff which uses whiskey barrels.

At a pub: Real ale or Guinness most of the time, or a cold decent lager (Peroni, Kirin Ichiban, Moretti) if it’s sunny and warm out during the summer. My favourite cocktail is a whiskey sour, but must be done properly with egg white.

At home: Guinness, the very occasional IPA (love a NEIPA) or lower alcohol real ale (3%ish). I absolutely love red wine but can’t drink much of it anymore, so save this for with special meals. Single malt occasionally, particularly enjoying the Kilkerran 12 at the moment.

I did at one point find myself returning to an enjoyable drink of very Fruity Red wine and dark Rum , in equal measures. Felt a little sophisticated whilst supping and feeling my legs go numb.

I forgot what single malt it was that you shared with everyone that time but that was very nice.
