What great handiwork! Does it taint the beer at all for the first few pints (or do you not notice after a few?:D)

This is the first tankard I've made, so others can advise better than me on this, but I've never had tainting of whiskey or sloe gin when drunk from my leather whiskey tumblers or shot glasses. In fact the aroma of beeswax complements the whiskey very well.

After christening the tankard tonight with my home brew (from home grown hops) I have to agree!

There's another one already in the making so, if anyone is interested, keep an eye out in the Makers' Market.

I am currently teaching two lads of 14 and 16 how to make tankards such as these, for the D of E awards. I reckon they will be well pleased if theirs turn out like this.
