Plenty of small flakes falling for an hour in Hampshire - not settling though

Snow day?

Hmm "dear boss....as I live on a farm, I may not be able to get home unless I leave now"

"But you have a Landcruiser with BFG tyres"

It's been snowing in Newbury since around 0800 - at present we have precisely NO ground cover though. It's hitting the ground and melting. Gutted. I think if it was slightly colder, and the ground temp had dropped a couple of degrees, it would be pretty white out there. Vis is down to 300m at present, and it's been pretty constant at that distance all morning!

We were making plans for Newbury's First Office Winter Olympics involving tea trays and the steep carpark slope as a replacement for the luge, skeleton and bobsleigh (depending on how many people we can get on the tea tray, and whether you go down head first or tail first). Skiing down the hill, with a variety of jumps, slalom and other activities. And inter-company curling using the fleet of Ka's in the car park.

Hope it does start to settle again though - it always makes my cabin look a little picturesque! (March last year)

Tony & Tomtom,
You guys need to be a few hundred feet higher up, the Cambrian Mountains has plenty. Driving home tonight, as I got higher, the rain turned to sleet then wet snow, then the real stuff, the roads got a bit exciting - even with 4 wheel drive. I believe more is forecast for tomorrow.

Not sure these are the correct photos (someone tell me please). Our home computer is so underpowered - the photos never show up on our screen.

Anyway, this should be two shots from the front windows (or it may be just about anything else):
