Falling Rain, me and you then, a month of top class footy, bring it on

Is it though?

Do you not find that all the teams play not to lose and you end up with boring games followed by penalty shoot outs?

(See previous posts for disclaimer,no interest,no knowledge.)

:nana: Nothing is going to spoil it for me :nana:

Football ceased to be a game the minute that people started worrying about thier pension, along with "if I get an injury that's my career over." Pahh!!

Get a life and a real job and then perhaps the people that really deserve the money might get it, like our servicemen, policemen, nurses and firemen. They make a stand and a difference not by kicking a stupid pigskin around for 90 minutes.

It's not that mate, it's just what I used to like was the beautifull game before it became a business, it wasn't that long ago.

Everynow and again I will probably watch it with a couple of beers, but it ain't the same as it was:(

I have to say I am with Falling Rain and Phil. I am currently watching a good match between Germany and Costa Rica and I can't wait till tomorrow for the England match...............Jon

That's the way of the world nowadays unfortunately Leon. I wouldn't mind half a premiership players salary. As I mentioned earlier I'd retire after 5 years. I'm the least materialistic person I know, but money would give me the freedon to live the rest of my life how I pleased and that would be away from the madding crowds, and be able to visit the worlds wildernesses and generally slow the whole life down to a gentle amble, at a pace 'I ' dictated and not the governement or society. I personally hate money, but you simply can't live a decent life without any.............well not in this country anyway.

Real men play ice hockey... :)

Having said this, the only sports I´m interested in are boxing ang porno...

Nice one Jon. Join our little club. Saw a bit of that game. I'm at work at the moment. Cracking 4th goal from frings. As I said earlier in the thread I'm hoping Germany , Japan and England all do well :beerchug: So I'm happy this evening.
Pssst........this is really un-bushcrafty. Do you think anyone will moan and tell us to clear off to a footie forum :( Mind you it is in 'other chatter' :D

Oh how viciously that can come back and bite you in the bum:), there were still a fair few footballers in our midst:)
Yes Leon, it will always be there ready to jump out and bite you, and yes we were all interested in footie, but we had to go out on those cold wet fields and run around with a funny shaped ball, trying to keep out the way of Mr Sharples (was that his name or was it Mr Meridith then ???)...................Jon
