Snow's been and gone here in the lowlands of Anglesey, Wales. Snowed for about 20 mins, enough for a few snowballs and now all gone :-(

just got back down from the hills and the snow, bloody hard going it was too. one high road impassable for me ford escort and the other closed by police. so i had to walk up  still good fun though. the dog had a hard time towards the end, had to break off the snowballs sticking to the fur between the pads on her feet. she seemed prety happy with it all still.

cheers, and.

Well, we had a little yesterday (wed). About an inch laying in the morning. Started to rain about 3pm which turned to quite heavy blizzard so that we got sent home at 3.30. My normal 25 min drive home took 2 1/2 hours. Seems like a lot of people just can't drive!

Dave - bored and back at work!

We had some last night. Perfectly timed for my journey home. Leave at 5pm, rain, sleet BLIZZARD, white out in the space of 2 minutes. Never seen the likes. Only a couple of inches, but its frozen solid now. My girlfriend span her car, (serves her right should have bought a real car, one of them SMART things) her half hour journey took 2 1/2 hours!
Anyone been TRACKING ? Its the best time to see whats out locally and find out their haunts and where they live. That way you know where to look after the thaw.
More snow please I wanna go sledging.
Cheers
Rich

Dorset finally got some of the white stuff last night - around 6.00pm in the south of the county.

It came in as a blizzard and although only about an inch fell here that only took about 10 minutes! It was also accompanied by thunder and lightning - first time I've ever experienced those and snow simultaneously!

A lot of it has melted away now but some areas still look great!

I've never seen so many posts about snow. Your obsession with the white stuff is impressive. It's like kids in a candy store!
I wonder, would you guys be so eager to see snow if you had to get up early every morning before work to shovel the stuff? Especially if a snowplow were to come by AFTER all your hard work to deposit a 2ft high snowbank across your freshly shoveled driveway? :-D

I lived in Newfoundland for a couple of years and I have to say that I miss the snow, even with the drive clearing and the digging out of snowbanks :-D

True - but then you rarely get to see it down here (only a few miles from the sea with lots of salt-laden winds!)

And it makes tracking so much easier!!

the snows all melted away now thanks to some heavy rain  but i,ve just been down to see the river which runs through the town & it.s the biggest i,ve ever seen it. went in my mates car to have a look farther out of town &the river has burst its banks, we came round a corner and there was the river where the road used to be  so we had to drive on,it was a bit hairy for a moment when you see water nearly coming up to the bonnet. just goes to show how misleading it can be,it did,nt look as though it was that deep, anyway i should of had a gill net with me cos i could of stuck it out of the window & done some trawling for trout mmm... cheers
