What did you buy today?

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Huh, Just checked my local Berks weather, cold, barely making 12 degs for a few hours next weekend, colder at night.
On the bright side, just bought 2 cheap out of date 24hr ration packs = 4 meals plus nibbles etc for the price of two commercial meal bags. Unable to Moot, but ideal if I'm still able to do a quick grab and bug out overnighter soon.

I can’t remember who suggested Polymath Products, but an idle surf around their website has resulted in a smallish spend. They do seem to specialise in those small things that will be really useful when out and about…….

Me.

I'd also suggest a good perusal of EDC Gear for bit-n-pieces.

Paramo Grid Technic base layer. These are a ridiculous price, now down to £15 on Paramo Outlet on ebay but only sizes left are S in mens and XL in womens.

New android tablet, 128gb sd card and a case to house it in, for use during my forthcoming hospital admissions, easier than taking the laptop or trying to do stuff on a smaller phone screen
Biggest tablet I've ever seen administered in Hospital.

I’ve just received mine in XXL, I wish I’d bought a couple more at that price but wanted to make sure it fitted first. Very impressed with it- worn it for a bike ride. Instead of being sweaty and cold after, I’m just a bit sweaty. :) I also bought an Alta 2 the next day, for £80, hoping that’ll fit as its same size as this. After trying this base layer, I’ve also ended up getting a Paramo Bentu fleece for £40, really good value with that 20% discount. I used to get quite a few things on Craghoppers outlet, but I’ve found the quality very hit and miss.

I bought 2 of these, plus one women's in L for my gf. The XXL fit's me just about perfect, the L might be a little big on my gf but at this price I couldn't turn it down. My gf took a fancy to my Paramo Velez, so I've been keeping an eye on Vinted and last week managed to purchase a women's Alta iii for £50! What is the fleece like? I really fancy either a Fuera smock or the Paramo Poncho, will be keeping an eye on Paramo Outlet store!

An Afghan Kazan, a charity shop find, unboxed but brand new. It was cheap enough to justify buying it even if I only use it a couple of times and as I generally take the Kadai and tripod away with us when we go camping I thought I'd give it a try.

I think it’ll be coming tomorrow- can’t fault their postage service. I’ll let you know when I get It. I think it’s quite a thin one, they do a heavier version as well. I would have preferred the Alta 3 as I believe the pockets tend to leak on the 2, but at £80 compared to £220 it’s a no brainer really, especially as the 3s on the site are, I think, seconds or returns. At £80, I won’t be as worried about snagging it or messing it up.
