Just packed all my kit bar my wash bag and cooking kit. Total weight = 12Kg, what have I forgotten?

I'm going to buy a new stove and pot tomorrow, would a MSR Whisperlite and ETA 1.0 or 1.7 litre pot be a good choice?

ETA 1.7 is a good general pot, if you can spring a bit extra get the Primus Omnifuel, it simmers better and uses all the liquid fuels plus gas.

Nowt to stop you wearing cold weather gear as you board the plane I'd have thought, duvet jacket, boots, extra thermal layers...strip a layer when on board and put back on when you've landed; cut your hold luggage down a tad.

I know this might be a daft question, but have you thought about all getting together and chartering a small plane, and split the cost..
Just a thought, you wouldn't have the load restrictions as tight as the commercial airlines, you can fly on the date you want to the airport you want.. and its not as expensive as most people think, especially when there is a group. and best of all you can book it at a relative short notice.

As I said just a thought

Wear your heavy gear on the plane as it leaves more checked luggage weight.....but a word of warning.
I wore my ice jacket on the plane on the return flight....bear in mind I spent most of the evenings for the preceding week sat around a fire in the jacket......subsequently the fire smoke had really gotten into the jacket.....

As a consequence the plane take off was delayed due to flight attendants believing their was a fire on the plane.....this actually happenned :)

No idea, when I worked for someone else, the company used these people when sending us abroad to non-commercial destinations

http://www.privejets.com

they don't just do jets, but other types of planes as well. both big and small

would be worth it just to get a quote, could be good, could be bad. but as they say nothing ventured.....

hope that helps
