I've done a bow making course and we used 12 month seasoned ash for the bow. Worked it from quarter round. Lovely bit of work, but never really get the chance to shoot it.

I haven't done that specific course, but I did a week-long course a couple of years ago with Woodsmoke and I found them very good. They've got a great woodland site just by Lake Windermere and the instructors were really knowledgable. From the link you posted, I see Steve Hanton is taking the course. He was one of my instructors and really lives and breathes bushcraft. I think he said he worked at Woodlore before Woodsmoke.

So thumbs up for Woodsmoke but I can't vouch for this course, I'm affriad.

i did the weekend intro course with woodsmoke couple of years ago and steve was one of the instructors so it is very tempting
