2 fantastic ice rescue and survival videos from a well respected Canadian expert in the field of cold effects on the body. Essential knowledge for those who risk a dunk in the winter.

very interesting Teepee, thanks! When we are prepping trails for the dogsled with snow scooters, we need to travel for 4 kilometers over a lake. There is a river nearby the place where we get back on land, into the forest. Every year we experience long stretches of overflow, I always fear that we might someday break through. Thanks for sharing.

The temperature from various weather station, this page is for the Ben, although the station is on neighbouring aonach mor, so a couple of hundred meters lower than the summit of the Ben:

http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/weather/maps/city?WMO=03041&LEVEL=140

One can also get the wind speed etc by playing with the settings. Lower down the page there are links to other weather stations, links that change by region depending on the page you have open.

Mountain weather forecasts I use this page

http://www.mwis.org.uk/scottish-forecast

Set to Scotland but you can get the upland forecasts for other UK areas elsewhere on that site, handy and by far the best upland/outdoor forecasts going. BBC Scotland outdoor activity forecast, broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland at 6pm UK time, http://www.bbc.co.uk/radioscotland and 7am in the morning on the weekend you get the same mwis hill forecast plus coastal waters, so handy for the sailers and paddlers too.
