how this for a teaser, can anyone idetify the parang they use in the amazon rainforest episode? (the one it takes a day jsut to get their vehicles off the platform)

yeah but how staged was the fire on hammonds curtain side???

it was so soaked with meths or something,...

haha

canvas does not combust when hit by the dying sparks of a 4 inch grinder from 12 feet away,....

Wait til next Saturday evening it's repeated on BBC3 I think. I'm here in France and can't get the iplayer either, not to meniton a slow bandwidth as well, so it's see it the first time around or hope to catch the repeat later in the week.

As for your original question yes I did clock that zebra can hanging over the fire. Just wondering how he was able to have it set up like that and appear to have just woken from his sleeping bag.

Anyone else think 90% of their antics aren't as spontaneous as they seem to appear? Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the show, but sometimes it gets spoilt if you look too deeply into the how of the production.

Liked that bloke's hat Clarkson called out when they were at the cool wall. How sad am I? LOL!

Yup I know its great but not so great when you have less than a 0.5MB connection. :(
On really rare good days I can stream it but most of the time its too slow.

If you get iplayer desktop (assuming you're on Windows, I never managed to get it working right on linux) you can download them for watching within 28 days. It's what we do here, it might take you a bit longer to download it, but you can then watch it without any issues of streaming stop starts. We currently have 3 episodes of Top Gear and 3 episodes of Being Human sat on my computer waiting for us to have time to watch them.

you can tell most of it is staged, like the land cruiser rolling down the dune in the bolivia one. they also did this with the electric car they made. its a shame because when something actually really happens you dont know whether its just another fake thing they have staged. the volcano that May drove up to looked quite fake to me, and it makes you wonder whether that bit in america with the hillbillys at the gas station was real.
and when they do the "buy three old cars and do some challenges" thing there is always one with no brakes, and always one which is unreliable, i dont think there has ever been an episode where they all worked.

There have been other bits of bushcraft stuff over the years like James May with a Mora. It's probably someone on the production team slipping in bits for a laugh. It will all be staged of course as thats TV & that is what it takes to het the shots they want.
