I've used something very similar. I set the into the surface of a workbench so that I could use 8mm bolts to fix machines like buffing or grinding wheels and be able to remove them afterwards and free up bench space..

Great idea, I'm just setting up a workbench now. I've got a vice on a board with a bolted batten that is gripped by a folding workmate bench. I might do a hybrid to limit the number of holes in the new workbench - standardarised bolt down workbench plates with a variety of kit fixed to the plates.

I have noticed now that Search Engine AI takes over, pretty much ignores your search term and insists on giving you what it decides what you want to see - and there's no override.
