I'll be teaching the basics, how to use your camera, composition, night photography and other interesting and useful bits and bobs.

The Afternoon session will cover basic camera controls and what they do, such as shutter speed, aperture and ISO.
I will also cover basic composition for both people and landscape/nature photography.

This will be from 3 -5pm.
Max: 30 people

The Night session will be about taking photographs at night/dusk. Concentrating on getting a good image of fire and the people around it and perhaps a shot intro to light painting.
I'll be covering the correct camera settings and what the individual settings do to the resulting image.
We will also look at various methods of getting a sharp image and possibly go over composition a bit as well for those who are a bit dodgy in that area.

Meeting at 9:30pm to start at 10pm.
Max: 15 People

These will be pretty informal however you will need certain things to participate:

OVERALL

* IMPORTANT... If you don't know how to work your camera bring the manual! If you don't have the manual, come up to me during and I'll see if I can help but I'm not 100% on small digital cameras so it may take some time.

* You will need a camera (LOL) preferably a digital so you can review immediately. If you don't have digital, a polaroid is a good alternative option if you can afford the film.
(I don't have spare cameras so if you don't have one, I'm afraid you won't be able to participate.)

* Remember to bring spare batteries and make sure they are new/fully charged.

* If you like, you can bring a note pad and pen(cil).

NIGHT COURSE

* IMPORTANT: Please ensure your camera will allow you to adjust the ISO, shutter speed or aperture, if you are unsure whether or not it can do this, please PM me.

* If you have a tripod, bring it. Even if it's a tiny cheap thing, it'll be better than hand holding.

* If you don't have a tripod, don't worry. We'll be making sandbags anyway...
(If you have a large ziplock plastic bag ((It has to be zip closed)), bring it please. I only have a few so if a lot of people turn up for the night course, you'll end up sharing if you don't bring your own! )

* If you are using a camera that has a remote control / a shutter release cable / blip, then bring it please.

* If you have a headtorch, led penlight or something similar, please bring it along as well. Depending on what people bring and if there is enough of you, I am thinking on doing a quickie intro to lightpainting, great fun and cool results!

Thanks Cobweb :You_Rock_
Brilliant sessions learnt so much, just got to sit and sort out the photo's.
And thanks to your mum for putting up with us highjacking you every night to go and do light painting and running around like loons with glowsticks.

Cheers Andy

Yes Yes!! It was fab!! Thanks Cobweb :) Please do it again next year. :D

Is it ok for me to upload one or two to show off? I don't know the rules of the forum. I'm thinking the one's of Adam 'thinking' and camp fire shots primarily... ;)

Thanks for the course Cobweb!! I wish Id attended the afternoon session as well, but I imagined Id be able to handle my camera. turns out I had forgotten about 99% of what I knew of SLR`s and couldnt work the camera out! Still, I learned enough to get some good shots in the end!
