Pan advice

Not sure if this is the correct section?
Just bought a very nice set of Le Cruset cast Iron enamel coated pans (like new £5!).
Wifes not keen on the colour so would they be any good on my gas stove / fire for camping?
Or should I just pass them on and use my old alloy billys?

Yes you can use them on a 'sturdy' gas stove. A bit heavy to cart around though.

Any advantage? Going in the car so weights not a problem

probably 'nicer' to cook on than a thin ally billy can. Stuff wont burn as quick and suchlike

After giving it some thought I will stick with my alloy ones and flog the cast ones on

They are like these but with pouring spouts and oak handles on the pans but plastic knobs on the lids, I believe they are 60s/ 70s
