No. 10 Petition against 084x and 087x numbers

There has been a petition regarding the 084x and 087x numbers to doctors, PCT's, hospital and other DoH departments - this has led to a policy change where the DoT will be forcing departments under thier control to phase out numbers that cost more than a normal 01 / 02 number.

Great news, however as this is being implemented other HMG departments are still using the 084x and 087x numbers and still making a profit from callers.

This petition is asking for a ban on all government departments using 084x and 087x numbers.

About time too Its daylight robbery IMHO. My Telephone provider very nicley gives me a cracking deal to 01 and 02 numbers eg they are free. I know we have to pay something eg to businesses etc but I think Govt depts should not use them. Its like a stealth tax!
