Spoony, i can see where you are coming from now. I have a friend who puts his arguments in a similar way...his aggression does not get him anywhere...

tomtom said:Perhaps if Simon had contacted Tony directly offering up his side of the argument Tony would have allowed it to be published on the forum, rather than posting a thread which was, as has been pointed out, filled with far more advertising than any other commercial company is allowed on this forum he didnt see fit to do that. At the time he posted the thread there was no open discussion of the Bushcraft magazine on this forum as Tony had locked it when accusations of spam first started to be made!

Why not just unsubscribe from the thread instead??

My god, the man didn't murder anybody. I get loads of spam, who knows where they get my address, quite frankly I don't care - I hit delete or filter them out, problem solved. I didn't get spammed by bushcraftmag because I read the rules and entered the competition. The level this has got to is absurd.
:sadwavey: :sadwavey: but i might because i am a sensitive guy.soa_uk said:How did you know I didn't add him to my buddy list?
Mostly, people get KFd or ignored if I'm getting wound up with their approach. I tend to respond rapidly to postings. Things degenerate into a slanging match. Easiest thing to do is not respond to postings that annoy you at the time.
Easiest way of doing that is to use the provided facilities.
You tell folk so they know why they don't get a response. As I said earlier, as far as I know spoony's a good guy. He's interested in bushcraft, is involved with trying to get some woodland for people to practice bushcraft in, and posts here and on another site
He seemed to be suggesting that the reason for the fuss is competition between bushcraft organisations. I felt sensitive about this, because I posted the start of this thread. Why? Because I felt the reply on British Blades smacked of someone trying to muzzle a bit of debate... and I didn't like it. I have no other motives, veiled or otherwise. I felt inferences were being drawn that were unfair.
I don't suppose he'll cry 'cos some sad Highlander doesn't want to see his posts for a bit![]()
Don't forget all the publicity the magazine is now getting through being ranted and raved about in this thread...ScottC said:it is considerably more publicity than any other company gets.
spoony said:OK we all said some stuff, bottom line is i dont think the guy deserved the slagging off he got here. Whether right or wrong, lets get back on track, and use this site for what its here for. Bushcraft. No hard feelings you orrible lot.![]()
