Massacre at Scarborough!

The ill advised King Æthelred has ordered an ethnic cleansing of Northern England. All Scandinavian settlers are to be slain on St. Brice's day. His armies are now descending on the Viking stronghold of Scarborough and it's going to get messy...



At least that's the premise that we will be working under this weekend at Scarborough Castle.

Expect living history, craft demonstrations, a little bit of friendly bloodshed.

All the usual stuff, myself included. If anyone is in the area, it should be a good event.

Bum, now that ( Scarborough ) I would have liked to go to but the wife has a family event down in Oxford this weekend that we are obliged to attend. Still, on the way back on Sunday there's a Siege at Kenilworth Castle and a Roman Festival at Lunt Roman Fort that happen to be very close to the route home.... The presence of mounted reenactors in the gyrus at Lunt for the first time was enough to persuade herself.

The Monday we are already booked for another event, mores the pity as Vikings and Saxons is right up the middle sons and my street.

Well , what a great afternoon at Scarborough, if your local or after something to do this weekend get yourself over there . Touched base with Wayland, great to meet a forum member for real , fantastic to see his work close up .and have a chat with him . He exudes passion and knowledge . Brilliant day all round , makes me want to join the shield wall!
