As your sleeping out for extended time on this trip are you hot tenting or long log fire heating??

Twodogs
Depending on the weather and regulations we will be sleeping in a natural shelter with small fire, cold tenting in a small tipi, hot tenting using a small woodstove in the tipi or cowaring in the stuga ;)

Damian and I are in a cabin but we intend to get out for a few nights.

Of course, we'll be able to pick and choose which nights and bug out if it gets a bit hairy too.

Ohh.. That's bad news Ron.

Hope things are not too bad for you.

Apart from having no income at all, I'll be fine!

Good luck, you guys.
We're having -25 degrees tomorrow and 30cm of snow right now and I am about 1000km south of Jokkmokk. Looks like a real winter this year, so be prepared. I'll be having a local Jokkmokk-adventure. First lesson learned; beard accumulates not only food, but also water, which turns into ice, which is highly uncomfortable, both as it is and when thawing. So beard has come off!
Hunterssocks I purchased lately are useless in these conditions. Make the feet moist, so they turn cold.

I've got one of these on the way from the states after hearing some glowing reports about them.

All the bumff is on the website. They are supposed to humidify incoming air and warm it up by 20-40F. I thought I'd post this up here as it may be something others might fancy looking into.

Bring out the icey Gimp!

Had a chilled couple of days up Barbondale, interesting chats with Shewie and Bilmo about various kit. Been looking on wintertrekking about the PE toboggan done by teepee, interested in doing one. Can anyone point me toward the arctic trips reports from March 2012 ?
