Likewise ! :)

Picked up my snowshoes today, they're lovely old ash and rawhide things pretty big 12x60, but I am 6'2" and ~14 stone. Got 'em off the original owner, from kirkby stephen of all places, he'd got them in the early '80's in canada, paid $48 according to original receipt ! They've hardly been used but will get a fresh coat of varnish. Hope they come in handy on the trip, but very much depends on what we get up to.

They sound lovely things, looking forward to seeing them. Unless theres a massive lack of snow which is unlikely, they'll be very useful.

If there's no snow, you can play arctic tennis

I have maps of the town printed out with all the POI shown, these include

dentist
doctors
police
pharmacies
medical centre
emergency numbers
museum (Sami)
SAR.
etc

Ive had these laminated and then cut down and sewn so they fold out to save room

I'll hand these out on the 16th or when i see you next

Plane is booked, hotel in Lulea booked, in Jokkmokk we will use Charliefoxtrot's stuga as a basecamp. I think I am all set :D
I might just check dubbelcheck whether I indeed need no reservation on the bus from Lulea to Jokkmokk, but Pete says so and if Pete says so, it is so ;)

If temps go down to what they were last year at the Market we have got our work cut out for us. Especially is we get heavy snowfall whilst we are out there, it will be most challenging. I look forward to it and find it daunting at the same time. Let me check out the Jokkmokk webcams again :hatscarf:

Is Jokkmokk one of the coldest places in Scandinavia?

Looking at weather records, the coldest places vary but as its a good way from the sea, it's probably likely to be up (down) there with the coldest :)

Am I the only one stupid enough to be sleeping out for the duration? :hatscarf:
