hi andy as johnathon d said keep possative and get well soon im sure we are all thinking of you keep us informed regards dave

I'm with you on this one too Andy. I was coming on here to post about a minor problem of my own, but you just put it all in perspective for me. Best of luck, and get well soon.

Hope you get back on your feet again soon Andy.I share your feelings about hospitals, was taken in this time last year and they thought i had a blood clot on the lungs, various tests were talked about but i ended up self discharging as the place filled me with an uncontrolable fear and going home, SWMBO was not a happy bunny to say the least (she is a nurse). Luckily i was allowed to return the next morning and given the all clear. Only advice i can give is give google a miss and leave it to the medics.

I really can understand something of what you're going through Andy.
About 18 years ago, I collapsed in the kitchen at 3am, after getting out of bed for some pain killers for my back. I was rushed to hospital, where I was stuck for 6 weeks.

They had no idea what was up, they thought it was connected with the disc operation I had had, about 3 months earlier but they couldn't figure out how or why.

Anyway, after endless tests, all negative, they started pumping me full of huge doses of anti-biotics, on top of copious doses of morphine and eventually, after about 4 weeks I was able to move and eventually, walk again.

Don't be afraid to ask questions or for 2nd or even 3rd opinions and if you're not happy with something, let them know.

Keep a hold Andy

best wishes

Steve

Hi Andy,

There has to be a reason, maybe it was something to do with all that swimming in the sea? No telling what's in there.

Don't do a runner on us, keep us in the loop. We're all rooting for you. Do give the doctors a chance, grit your teeth, let them do what they want to do and do what they tell you. When I had stomach ulcers they stuffed something like a hosepipe down my throat with a camera on the end of it, I can't say it was pleasant but it got the job done and told them what they needed to know so that they could give me the proper treatment without guessing. After that it was just a matter of setting an alarm so that I didn't miss any of the tablets which they said was very important. Anyway I did what they said and it fixed it. I know what you mean about being a bad patient, I think I'm a lot like that too, but sometimes you just have to admit that somebody else is the expert and they know what they're doing and take their advice.

Very best wishes for a quick recovery.

Ged.

Thanks again guy's,, Ged its not as simple as let them do what they want, they tried a endiscope (no relation to current probs) after giving me a sedative it had no effect on me and after trying twice to get the camera down my throat they gave up, its not that i dont want the test's (apart from the xrays) but like i say i have serious panic attacks and can sort of go out of control, hence asking for sedation, otherwise as i have tried to explain to them im wasteing there time and mine, my mind simply ownt let me lie there whilst they try and force camera's in various places, out for the count easy for them and me.

Oh, please be like my father and INSIST and sedation...

And Andy, be thankful you dont have kidney stones (like dad had once)

or be in hospital for a week, liquids only due to a grumbling appendix. (his appendix is fine, but several people in that ward died of petronitis because they did not heed the warning signs)

Had a few shocks meself lately, including yeserday, I'm with yer all the way, love yer posts down by the rocky shorelines. :sadwavey:

What you'll do to get out of watching the kids during the Summer recess Andy!!!

Ya big southern softey ye, I know exactly what's wrong with you.

You're too tall for your height mate, "That laddie" I said to Stooboy "is the height of nonsense", the first time I saw you bimble down that cliff's goat track.

I wondered why you'd gone quiet on here - I thought maybe you'd got a job in the tin mines of Knotty Ash or something.

Look mate, if you need anything, and I mean anything, anything at all - just give me a
wide berth.

Have they tested you for leprosy?

Just a thought...

Get well soon Andy and all the best.

blooming lightweight, I mean come ON... I've used some excuses in my time but this one takes the biscuit.

Hope things get better for you andy. Hospitals can be grim, but they get there in the end.
Keep positive mate and aim to get back to the coast again in small steps. Helps coping and revovery no end.

Ive finally found out what the bug is i have and its E coli how its got where its got i dont know and the bad news is the 2 lots of anti biotics ive been given wont kill it, it requires a week long course of intra vienous anti biotics so looks like i may be back to hospital, with all the fun and risk that entails.

Liam, Liam ,Liam, I knew i could rely on you for help and sympathy, as Arnie would say ''i'll be back, and this time your targeted for termination!

UUUUrrrrgh, hospitals, don't envy you that, but at least you know what it is and can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Gimme a shout when you are fit and healthy and we can both go and sort Liam out, termination is too good, some kind of maiming would be OK though.

I will be sure to do that, once fit maybe we could put a squad together it would mean trying to dispatch him on his own turf, but im keen to give it a go,Hell its what's keeping me going.
