I regurlarly help put a local cub scout group on their annual camp - I get to do all the cooking. As we only cook over a fire with Billy cans and skillets I tend to get rather tattered hands after cooking for 20 for 4 days. I usually just wear heavy duty gardening gloves but has anyone got tips for some decent heatproof gloves?

Yup welding gloves are what you need, they're a bit big and clumsy but they stand up to heat better than gardening gloves

Have a look on ebay for heat resistant kevlar gloves.

Not as bulky as welders gloves and and a lot more comfortable to wear as well for extended times
