wiltshirehero turns out to be spiritofold who was banned by me .
Banned again.......no duplicate accounts allowed.
Frankly once the bans were in place the other night, I could clear 174 pms from my box...........that's how much of an irritation that was being caused to others.
There are 15 Mods by my last count..........imagine that number multiplied across their boxes too.
Sorry for the interruption folks, Admin will try to prevent this happening again.

I'm still here too, but have been busy with the grandkids on half term.
The other day I helped them make a huge pan of very hot beef curry. Then we made shortbread.
Today I taught them both how to make rock buns and scones. Ellen wants to learn how to make proper bread and Cameron wants to make doughnuts.
Next time I'm going to teach them how to make short paste and we'll make some meat pies. I told them I use my false teeth to crimp the pastry. They both laughed then Cameron looked worried. I asked him what was wrong and he said "If you use your false teeth to crimp the pastry, I dread to think what you use to make the holes in the doughnuts".
I thought the grandkids were brilliant when they were toddlers, but they are both so much more fun now they are 11 and 13. Cameron has my sense of humour.

We all can get a little peevish sometimes, and the internet has this amazing knack of making people seem more arrogant and humourless than they actually are. I think mod team on here are great, and thats not me crawling, they do good job in what is starting to become difficult curcumstances. I come to discuss bushcraft, not argue with malicious cliques and nutters, and I don't like seeing people I know and like being bullied by the same malicious cliques and nutters, just because they stand up to them. As I said the mods need a really good pat on the back.

Take more than a few mardy folks to put me off this great site, which gives me loads of ideas to try across a huge range of skills. Very handy when your off work and cant get out and do the more physical tasks like camping out, walking and cooking up a feast.

I'm not surprised people are leaving in their droves. I saw the picture that got one member banned, can't say there was anything wrong with it personally. Comments made after thast post I am not privvy to so I imagine that is the reason they were banned, but it seems it is an escalation that wasn't required over a picture of some rifles on a bed. It's getting a bit restrictive on here lately, so I will be popping in now and then but I need some more freedom. I like a laugh as much as the next guy, but feel it can't be done here. I'm sorry that is so.
Gad that's pathetic. The photo had nothing to do with his ban. It was simply edited into a link...........y'know as per guidelines that images of firearms are best kept to Fair Game so that unsuspecting folks don't open them in public spaces.

Mary, why do you have to force your opinions down everyones' throat all the time? Long standing members would probably have got away with it with a telling off, as I said I have no idea of posts made after the picture but I feel it was probably handled badly. Can't say for sure though as the whole thread has dissapeared!
You wish individuals to form an opinion and make their minds up whether it is worth hanging around, then a bit more transparency is required. Why delete a thread that shows one person in a bad light who is promptly banned unless there are pictures of pornography, dead critters or excessive swearing? I could see no reason why spiritofold was banned, or Bernie, they've just gone.
I know you dislike anything related to hunting animals or the dispatch thereof which is fair enough, but I feel that your opinions stand in the way of your Moderation, which is usually top notch. Anybody falling outside the rules is promptly smacked down and that is the end of it where other things are often left to go on. Moderators should leave their personal opinions at the door when they step into the forum, the rules are what should be enforced. I'm sorry to say that for those reasons alone, I need to spend less time here.

I have no issues on hunting, shooting or fishing. I happily deal with dead critturs and all their bits and pieces. I don't eat them, but that's my only bias.

I'm afraid your thread has become the latest victim of the witch hunt
Genuinely, we don't close many threads, usually way less than a handful a month on average, and spammers apart we ban maybe three or four folks in a year. Probably why we take it ill out when those who feel the need to launch into personal attacks let rip.
On the whole this is one of the quieter, as in less argumentative, forums on the net. That in itself irks some people, especially those who don't accept any Modding or that guidelines are meant for everyone and don't see why they can't swear, post adult humour topics, attack individuals, etc.
If this thread draws a final line under this conflagration, it would suit most of us just fine.

Hey I'm on three, just as before. I have to say though I can't be doing with all the nuttiness, sniping and politik of late. I'm rather hoping all the blathering ceases soon and we can all get back to our respective interests and to just talking about them and sharing knowledge.
I'm also on survival.com...but it's probably best not to mention that word (I'm joking). This forum and the other one will continue to be main areas of focus still.
