What a brill 2 days. As I left tonight someone else turned up ;)
Made a spoon for my granddaughter yesterday and she came with me today. She's 10and did some building using willow bark as cordage and then started construction of a shelter. No support asked for or needed.
Pics to follow.

Several good meets coming up.
Hopefully next Saturday will be the Animal Tracks and signs or may nip to Peterborough to go on the camp cooking and Free herbal walk and medicine making workshop in Grimeshaw Woods ;) (This one is the camp cooking link)

I donated a new fire rack

You can't see me roight (Colin)

Nice with chips?

10-11lb Mirror Carp

Paige trying out new skills (Don't know where she learnt them including tying with willow bark?)

Start of her shelter

The spoon I made her

and the willow weaving we did

Not enough trees

St. Georges mushrooms not 15' from the campfire

Didn't see the red ants nest in this rotten log until it was on the fire

Paige's favourite pastime (she did share them) was using my homemade Granddad's toasting fork

All gone....both packets...?

http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120883

Here is the full report chaps. Watch me graduate will full honors!

Thanks for the weekend Kev. As always, great to see you. Thanks for sharing your skills and the donation of the fire rack which works excellently and was much used.

Nice to meet you Les as well.

Hope to see you all at the next meetup and hopefully some more faces too!

That should be interesting to see. Hopefully if they have been in there playing, they had the courtesy of cleaning up after themselves.
Would be interested in having a look myself from a tracks and signs point of view. I find it fascinating to come across a campsite and put the pieces together of what they have been doing and where they have come from.

Next meetup down the lakes is next bank holiday.
