As shewie has stated above - army issue is the biz - just not particularly lightweight. Although if you're ditching your tent, that shouldn't be a problem!

Sweet thanks lads.

I'm so torn about the way to go... I'm a bit of a newbie so I'm in the process of finding my best outdoors setup. I went away two weeks ago in a tent and had a horrible nights sleep, just didn't feel right!

Was initially thinking Tarp and Hammock but I figured the Bivvi bag would be useable in more situations.

If you get a DD Travel hammock, you can either hang it as a hammock or sleep in it as a bivvy. Best of both worlds!

I've got the Alpkit Hunka XL - it's light but top entry only so not the easiest to get into perhaps but performs well
