Just wondering, has anyone tried this kind of stove inside a kelly kettle? Would it be more efficient?
I have a kelly kettle might try a Coke can version as I dont have access to stinky Lynx :p
They are decent. I got one given to me, plain olive green, does the job. Think that may be a bit pricey though. You can pick them up for about £25 second hand.
By the sounds of it you haven't let it pre heat enough. Classic school boy error that I have made hundreds of times.
Looks cool/scary:eek: but blackens your glass fairly well.
You nearly need to let the pre heater nearly burn out in a draught free area before its hot enough to light...
Idle hands are the devils playground! Be very careful:lmao:
If you have para cord you could play with knots and practice hitches etc
www.animatedknots.com is a good site for learning simple decorative knots and a fun to make.
Have fun and don't fall off the roof on monday.
Phil.
I voted yes, well as much as possible.
He is a border collie so is built for long walks in the hills and is relatively good when he has to sleep in a tent. he has a brilliant nature and doesnt even chase sheep!
I wouldnt be without him.
I may sound a bit silly but I haven't come across any leaches. Not any attached to me anyhow, but how exactly do you remove a leach?
Crazy little buggers by the looks of it.
I have had my 2ltr platy for about 7 years and have had no problems at all and it has had some abuse over those years. I have boiled it in a pot to sterilize it and have filled it with hot water to make a hot water bottle on numerous occasions. They're great!
I have used a solution of bicarb...
Just thought I would show off my BCUK inspired christmas pressies. So hopefully some pics of my bottled sloe gin and bath fizzies are below.
Many thanks to B Red for his tutorials!
So any of you made anything to give to your loved ones this Crimbo?
Phil
Wow a house invasion!
I have seen lots of these in my garden the slugs i mean. I found one balanced on the edge of my dogs bowl just sitting along the rim. So from that we can conclude that leopard slugs have a good sex life, an excellent coat and a balance that would do well in the circus.
"I stuck my finger in the woodpeckers hole........" Maybe not. :)
Iron Maiden - Fear of the dark.
The Mod Father - wild wild wood.
Billy Joel - We didn't start the fire.
and anything by Kate BUSH :lmao:

Another quality thread Red! (I'm a poet and didn't know it).
Just ordered some ingredients online and hope to receive them in the next couple of days. Should be a bit of craic messing about making different smellies. Just the excuse the wife needs to have a nice long soak as official...
S orry to hear about your news bud, I know words at this time can mean nothing compared to the feelings you and the missus are going through. I and my wife have just gone through the same thing three weeks ago.
Take comfort in your friends and family and think to the future in the knowledge...
Tried Edradour for the first time this summer. It was lovely, it would warm anyones coccles! Have to say though i do like a little snifter of the peaty nectar that is Laphroig:lmao:
DON'T PANIC!
Agree with the advice so far. I would tend to do as warrigal said and grind the edge flat and reprofile the edge. Its a lot of work on the wet stones but if your not confident in your honing skills it is a good opportunity to learn/practice.
Clouds and silver linings I think.
With EdS on this one. Sloe gin is champion. Bumper crop of sloes this year so i have 4ltrs under my stairs which will be getting ready to drink soon. YUM!:D
