    Hammock compatible sleeping bag

Now here is an idea that might have legs http://www.grandtrunkgoods.com/grand-trunk/herrick-bag-hammock-compatible-sleeping-bag/ Also stumbled on this but it seems that diagonal lay is an issue and looks like you are still compressing the underside. http://www.km276.com/ Still top marks for...

pc tablet with wifi and 3G info needed

Been running a 3G and wifi IPad for a year. In retrospect 3G was a waste of money. Wifi is everywhere - any coffee shop/hotel/pub/office/airport has it available for guests often for free pretty much worldwide. 3G is slow and expensive. If desperate go the tether route as described.

    Breakdown bag.

I have one of these for hill walking but normally keep it in the car. You often see family groups huddled in the rain on the safe side of the crash barrier waiting for a motorway rescue truck - a storm shelter could make a real difference. http://www.outdoordesigns.co.uk/products_shelter_group.html

    Wild Garlic Transplanting

We eat loads of this through the spring, didn't know that it grew so well in Scotland. I wouldn't have it in my garden as it does eventually cover a large area and I can do more productive things with that space. I did transplant a clump of it to a bit of unused land nearby and it has taken...

    Dowsing for water

Maybe you need to get up on the roof and loosen the U bolts securing it so that it can swivel freely and then report back to us, or alternatively stand outside in the rain and measure whether your house is rotating just a little bit ;-)

    Dowsing for water

Thanks for that Zingmo..perhaps some of the people in your company might want to learn the difference between appropriate risk strategies for decisions made on the basis of a certainty or just a possible indicator ? All I can say is that dowsing is a method used on a day to day basis by the leak...

    Dowsing for water

Recently acquired a new skill - dowsing for water. Now I am not one for crystal gazing or mumbo jumbo being a nuclear engineer by training - however this just works. Doing some leak detection on a water system with the local water company bods they produced a pair of dowsing rods and proceeded...

    Visit Wales TV Advert

news for you Tengu, you don't have to try too hard to get insulted by English speakers in England........and there is a pool of over 50m of them to draw from ! I always put it down to just individual rude gits not sweeping racial stereotypes which would be insulting. Visit Wales does seem to be...

    No Idea too extreme...

I think you will find that the true Field Gun event is in fact a Naval tradition. Dates back to the Boer war when some squaddies over estimated their abilities and had to be bailed out by matelots. http://www.royalnavalmuseum.org/info_sheets_gun_run.htm Have a look at the 1999 race on...

RN deck smock rain test vid

I don't think they bother issuing RAF with foulweather gear, if it starts to rain they just check in to the nearest Holiday Inn.

RN deck smock rain test vid

Flight deck kit indeed, matching trousers also available. Being cottony material they don't melt on to you in the event of a fire (should some wafu cock up a deck landing !) Also worn by clearance divers and submarine crew when they can filch them.
