Hi All
I am currently looking at making up an overall/ one piece suit from wax cotton. Does anyone have much experience of working with this fabric?
Particulaly how would you arrange the seams to be waterproof?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hi.

This link will take you through to the section on Ventile's website where they illustrate their recommended seam pattern and method http://www.ventile.co.uk/specification.php. There's also a PDF that you can download.

I know it's not waxed cotton, but I'd imagine Ventile's primary concern will be maintaining the waterproof integrity of any garments made from the material, so it's probably the best lay for a waterproof seam.

Hope this helps.

There's some on ebay, here. £7/m in 5m or 10m lots & 427gsm which is quite heavy. It may be easier and cheaper to make-up your item in suitable cotton fabric and then wax, or otherwise waterproof it yourself
