I fell out with my new axe
I had been cutting and splitting wood for the fire when i decided to split a big round of timber that id cut with the bow saw
took one swing at it all is well went to take a second swing at it and the fairy's did something stupid and the axe cut into my ankle im not sure how most folks would say that im very confident and safe with sharps :(

So be warned axes and sharps do the strangest of things

I'm sure you have a better idea of what happened than 'the fairies did it'. There's a lot to be learned from the wounds we suffer and I don't really want to experience that one o learn from it so if you evaluate what actually what went wrong it would be interesting to me (and I'm sure plenty of others)

Hehehe - didn't stop him popping by the camp twice after the hospital let him out! Was good to see you'd not damaged yourself worse Russ.

Thanks to all for a warm welcome in a cold site. -6.5C was the coldest I measured and my tarps were thick with ice when I broke camp.

Ouch!!

That looks sore Russ. I wondered why I'd seen you online yesterday.

I hope it heals quickly and not too painfully.
You now realise, I'll be thinking of you everytime I split wood. (With thick boots on  ).

View from up the hill :D

PC290007.jpg

The Two Stuarts worked extremely hard during the meet the will tell you themselves when the get online the fire wood was miles up hill but everyone grafted well :D

the view from "up the hill" is where the wood was, and the smoke in the distance was camp.... well no quite but it was a fair hike :) hence the "how far did you say it was russ?" & "are we there yet, are we there yet"

thanks to warthog1981 and toddy for organizing, i for one had a great time, the staff at the site where all very friendly and helpful, and very laid back with regards to the bushcraft ways.

was good to meet new and old faces. As per usual i think we all ate rather well, with the endless soup and stew pots that i think the fairies where filling up cos both seemed bottomless, but none the less very tasty also.

ill post some of my pics later on.

Stoo.
