There's a lot of people here who like runes and runic symbols. I'm one of them, but purely for the artistic opportunities they lend within design elements.
I've been looking at bindrunes lately, that is the combining (or binding) of runic letters to make a unique symbol or logo. I've done one for myself using the runic letters E, J and M, the letters of my name.
Here's the runic letters EJM
To make a bindrune, you can play with them and overlap them and so on until you have a symbol to your liking. here's what I came up with.
Now I don't know about you, but it looks a bit square to me, I mean as a design element, it's a bit blocky. So I've had a bit of a play around and come up with this. I've added a couple of waves at the bottom as well to represent water and changed the colour of the bindrune to green to represent grass and trees.
This is now my personal bindrune and I'm going to get a couple of stamps made up with it, one for leather and one for metal (blades).
If you fancy a go yourself, you can find your runic equivalent here where there is a runic converter, then just have a play around and see what you come up with.
