Thanks for posting this.
"meteorologist" correct. I incorrectly called my source a weather forecaster. As a professional his income, in a private company who advise national infrastructure bodies, relies upon him getting it right. No surprise therefore, he broadly agrees on El Nino. They also both agree that temperatures will exceed forecasts due to an off-planet event, nothing to do with man-made or other climate change.
I'm not clear what the bigger problem actually is, or a solution. Even these NEB folk ( a single issue political pressure group, but I'm not knocking them) agree that the impacts of these events are unknown. So as govt. or individuals irrespective, we are left to make educated guesses.
The only thing we seem to recognise, besides wilder unpredictable weather, is that there will be global food supply issues and that will be reflected in higher prices.
As a political group, the NEB wish to raise the issue in public and refer to it in emergency terms. The UK Govt. appears to disagree, and apparently not wish to alarm the public. Well beyond the remit of this forum.
Besides, like Woody Girl's community, it's shoulder shrugs and no interest. It may never happen, deal with it if it does. So I'll stick with my own guesses and actions list.
