Monday afternoon a neighbor told me that I had a wasp nest on my roses outside, so I went out and had a look and yep it was the size of a football and looked like a scene from Aliens orbiting earth.
I was worried as my path ends on a public footpath so I rang a local specialist and he told me it'll cost £65 for removal and the safe re-homing of the nest/hive.
Anyway cut to yesterday morning and he rang me up to check I still needed his service and to go and check that they were still as bad and blow me they had all disappeared into the wind.
I went to ask the same neighbor who told me about it and he said that they all flew off when he took his dog for a walk at 06;30.
Should of took a blinking picture
A swarm of bees. Always an impressive sight.
I have collected 2 during my "career" as beekeeper. None made it through the next winter.

Two Dippers along the river and just before I left, a Kingfisher flew past.

There's often a Heron there and I think I have once seen an Otter in the river.
It was sure bigger than any Mink I've ever seen anyway but I couldn't see it that well.

been out checking my trail cameras again, but but had a malfunction, so no videos (and some rough walking for nothing...)...

i did however come across a northern tamandua (tamandua mexicana) which i didn't see for years, so i'm excited... they only eat insects but have strong claws so don't get too close.... .their typical defense position is either laying on their (unprotected) back, claws up and ready to strike, or standing on hindlegs and tail (as shown on the google image for tamadua tetradactyla)
