When I was on the Doors I used to carry a fake wallet just in case more for walking back to my car.

Having kids, I carry photos where I used to carry money.
I just checked my wallet. As well as the usual bank cards, I found: a Fresnel lens, a memory stick with my 'Documents' directory backed up (haven't used this for ages since I now pay for Cloud with automatic back-ups), Library card like someone else said they carry, Medical Alert Card, Disabled Persons Railcard. The item that gave me a slight shock to find was a Padre Pio prayer in a plastic wallet with a 'holy medal'; this was given to me by my late mother (given more than 40 years ago). She was very religious, a practising Catholic, who was lived her entire life within a two-mile radius of where she was born. She could never understand where my wanderlust came from or why I'd want to travel across Europe for months on end with a rucksack. The 'holy medal' was to protect me. Seems to have worked .
In checking my wallet, I realised two things. There is seldom any money in it as I tend not to carry cash, and when I do I carry notes and coins in my pockets. I also realised that I seldom take the wallet out with me; I tend to remove what I need and just take those items in my pockets. I think this is because I subconsciously don't like having too many important/valuable things in a wallet that could be lost or stolen.

Certainly when I've looked at stuff on here I get ads on other websites loosely related. Not fully -they only see a snippet - once CBDC comes in eveything , every stage , every pound is a traceable entity so it doesn't become unknow when entering a larger pot of money - it will keep its very very unique single identity.

I've been looking at those wallets that are little more than a note clip and pockets for a few cards. They come from many sources but search for wallets on amazon and you'll see a lot, often made of "carbon fibre" (plastic that is made to look like it).
Anyone use something very basic like that? How do you find it?

Usual stuffs, plus I carry a few just in case meds, likely a bunch of moths... What I carry on my keys (because it doesn't fit nicely in my wallet, but would if it did) is a disposable barrier for resuscitation, thankfully never needed it.
other than the obvious, a Victorinox credit card tool, which i found very disappointing compared to Vics usual quality. but then they are limited to a space the size of a credit card, so understandable.

Currently in my wallet - Money £112.50**, Credit/Debit cards x4 (2 personal, 2 business), Driving Licence, Membership cards x 3 and a bunch of receipts.
**Actually only £110 in usable notes, the £2.50 is in actual fact a £5 note my wife and I had been sent to '"buy ourselves a drink", not having any change I tore it in half and gave her one piece retaining the other for myself telling her "if ever we are skint, at least we know we've got a fiver between us", although we've had a few occasions when we've been down on our luck we've been fortunate enough never to have had to selotape it back together and 24 years later I still carry my portion in my wallet and she still has the other half in her purse. x

Why so much cash?? Which I appreciate is a subjective matter. If you lived in LunDonnn I could understand it - but thats a still a princely sum to us shire folk.
