Agreed - Nodsville central station - Hard to stay awake.I passed my test on Monday and got my license/callsign today. The book is... fine. I'd say a fair bit of superfluous waffle. Although the test itself is also a bit overkill (questions on how to use a ladder safely?? Come on.), it wasn't too difficult as long as you can force your way through the book whilst retaining the will to live.
Does the test still include 'how to wire a three-pin plug'?
I took my test when it had to be in-person; I was the only one in a large hall at Sleap Airfield. Bonus though, I got taken up in a two-seater Cessna after the test![]()
I’d wanted one of his axes, but he doesn’t seem to make those anymore. But I’ve ordered a sloyd, finishing hook knife and a swan neck gouge. Was very hard to choose though. What've you gone for?
I recall you recommended the 'Wildguides' before on another thread. This is the first one I've picked up and I'm really impressed with it.Yep, the best I've found for a general spider reference - in fact all the Wildguides have been excellent.
Unfortunately, many species cannot be differentiated visually, but it does allow you to get down to family level.

So I'll need to get some stripper to remove that before they go into the acid bath

Had a job lot of lanterns arrive yesterday
2 small and 1 large Kwang Hwa's, 1 Ever Bright which is a Chinese make, 1 Meva 863 and a FH 275. All of them have been very badly painted with what looks like to be blackboard paint. So I'll need to get some stripper to remove that before they go into the acid bath

A shed, I bought a shed. A 5x5 corner shed to be precise, would have liked a 6x6 but just not enough room, but still, it's better than nothing. Will eventually be able to get all my tools and projects into one place which is the main thing.
