There are no Car Boots in the Iron Age, so skipped forwards 500 years to the Roman period.

(Story of my life these days; though I am very happy in the Iron Age, shopping of any kind is a bit difficult).

And after two hours...Joy!

Errol car boot is massive, chaotic and highly reccomended.

I picked up a few odds and ends, and then contemplated the hatchets at one of the (several) tool stalls.

There was a heavy ugly thing and a Brades, a Elwell...and went back to the heavy ugly thing, possibly the worst in the bundle.

And bought it.

I now have a side axe...Work will love this.

Bought a Savotta H-harness (green). Going to change the harness on my belt kit because I like the H-harness more than the Y-harness I now have.

The 1988 edition of The Ashley Book of Knots, by Clifford W Ashley, although I’ve not received it yet. Won it for the princely sum of £17.87 with a lucky bid in the last 5 seconds of bidding. A book I’ve had my eye on for a long time. :)

It’s a great book. Probably my favourite is the icicle hitch. Maybe.

Some small seedling pots and hormone rooting compound, have taken some cuttings from my small Rosemary plant in the hope that I can propagate some more stems.

A Singer 99 hand cranked sewing machine from a well known auction site. Been after one for a while, this came up reasonably locally, working order, sensible price.

Useful for the very heavy duty stuff that my modern machine doesn't like.

Love mine, think they're making a quiet comeback. It is possible to fit a later years electric motor with a rubber band drive to the handcrank wheel, but I'm happy handcranking :oops:and trying to use the treadle.

Another small sheepskin rug, in need of a good wash! Hence only £3.50. It's come up nicely, but having a mare trying to dry it, as it keeps raining, just when it's almost dry!
This is going towards my plastic free camp kit. Combined with another identical(and much cleaner) one, I got a few months ago, it will make a good base for my bed.
