Last weekend the missus and I visited my parents, and in spite of the rain we took a hike to where I used to spend many a day out when I grew up.
After we parked the car we followed this simple road for some kilometres. It doesn't show in the picture, but parts of the road is rather steep and the both of us got pretty warm.
This stone was left by the ice a long time ago, but why did it split? Maybe a troll did it?
At about 300 meter we left the road and headed out into untouched terrain. Quite wet on the ground, but not much coming down from the skies - all good!
Enjoying the view and contemplating memories from my childhood.
The missus has been here ones before and it was just as beautiful as she remembered.
These stones hadn't gone away...
... and neither had this old tree.
Time for a coffee break.
Only wet wood to be found, but some dry heather helped us out.
I think this boat was supposed to be on dry land, but heavy rain the last few days had flooded the lake. Oh well, plastic boats can handle incidents like this I suppose.
Fresh blueberries washed by the rain.
Quiz: On which side of the tree do the ants build their hills?
Dead juniper bushes is a piece of art.
So long, I will definitely be back!
