We went to this yesterday:

http://www.weirdandwonderfulwood.co.uk/

"A specialized art and craft event with a difference, dealing solely in wood. For those with a capacity for wonder it will be a celebration of wood work and wood workers"

It was the first time we'd been and it was fabulous; I've got neck ache from constantly being drawn to look at something new. I can also report that spoon carving was very well represented; and I was quietly pleased to note that a couple of my efforts would not have disgraced the show.

If it is within reach of you and you haven't been then I'd put it in your diary for next year.

A friend of mine from work went too and commented that it was luck that he heard about it.

It seems to have grown quite quickly, largely by word of mouth.

I went on Saturday and came away with an adze and gouge.. I havnt been for a few years and it has grown a lot since moving to Haughley Park, it started over 15 years ago on the Thronham estate. It was a great day out, even the wife enjoyed it and made a braclet with our son

I nearly bought a GB camping axe for my spoon carving but didn't have enough cash.

Next year I'm taking a trailer and a bundle of notes.
