Getting a bit spooky here. Remember me joking that the Trolls had fixed my engine warning light for several hundred miles Aa I passed through central Sweden? Well, on the way back, the warning light went off as I got to central Sweden and only came back on again 800 miles later as I crossed into Denmark!

Talking of spooky reminded me of a night a couple of days before I packed up.

I woke up about 3am to the sound of something snuffling by my head, just the other side of the tent fabric.  Now the Serri nature reserve has a large poster featuring a black bear on it. &nbsp

;As a big fan of nature programmes in TV, I remembered that bears don't always hibernate throughout the winter, but occasionally get up and go for a wander before going back to their den.

Several thoughts went through my head, blind panic being the first! However, the second was that I was warm and snug in my sleeping bag, we're all going to die sometime, and if you've got to go, being eaten by a bear has a certain cachet about it.  With that thought I went back to sleep.

Sadly for the story, however, the morning reveals a host of reindeer tracks around the tent, so no bear after all. I remember feeling quite disappointed at the time!

Trees lakes, reindeer, foxes (they grow really large here!), and what I assume was a pine marten. Spectacular sunsets and sunrises made up for the lack of any Northern Light sightings.

To be honest, I came here to enjoy the Arctic forest, not to do the tourist thing of art galleries and museums.

As a keen supporter of museums (I hope to end up in one.) your heresy saddens me.

But yo got to play in the snow which is a worthy thing.

Tengu, ending up in a museum; is this as a curator or as an exhibit?
