So I had a little spare time yesterday afternoon and went to explore a little more. First I set up the hammock after making a makeshift brush and sweeping back some of the leafmould. Next I decided to follow the badger trail and see where it led. What I found amazed me. What I had assumed to be a small piece of rough ground between two fields turns out to be a fairly large area. I walked for 30 mins and had to turn back so I wouldn't be late for work. Here is a picture taken on my phone from the opposite side of the valley. The area I am using is on top of the hill to the right middle and runs round to the right out of sight (area in red, yellow is where the badgers live).
The badger set I found seems enormous and is set in a lovely part of the woods with some big old trees and feels warm and sheltered. Think I might go back and watch them soon if I can identify a spot that won't disturb them.
A few more pics of the day.
Can you make out the trail going under the low branch? Much better defined than if looks on camera for some reason.
Following the trail.
Badgers Ho!
There must be 10 different entrances.
