Titanium is about the worst metal known for conducting heat so I'm not surprised at your stoves poor performance to be honest.

I think that's a bit harsh, Rik ;-) IIR my metallurgy lectures correctly, Titanium would be a slightly worse thermal conductor than /Mild/ Steel, but quite a bit better than Stainless... and Ti has a higher SHC, so it'll retain the heat longer (for an equal weight, LOL).
None of this helps NetFrog get his stove lit though... :(
